Official Setup Walkthrough

InfoOS Installation Guide

Follow this step-by-step guide to get InfoOS running on your Windows billing counter PC in under 5 minutes.

01

Download the Windows Installer

Grab the latest official InfoOS installer package from our download page. The executable is lightweight (~48 MB) and contains the complete offline billing engine.

Pro Tip: Ensure your computer runs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) with at least 4 GB RAM.
02

Run the InfoOS Setup Wizard

Double-click the downloaded installer (InfoOS-Setup-v2.4.1.exe). If Windows SmartScreen shows a prompt, click 'More info' and select 'Run anyway'. The installer will set up local files and place a shortcut on your desktop.

Pro Tip: You do not need an active internet connection to complete the installation process.
03

Sign in or Activate Terminal

Launch InfoOS from your desktop. Sign in with your registered account credentials or input your offline terminal license key. The software initializes a local high-speed SQLite database on your SSD.

Pro Tip: Once activated, your terminal can run permanently offline without recurring internet checks.
04

Configure Thermal Printer & KOT

Navigate to Settings → Hardware. Select your connected thermal receipt printer (USB, Ethernet LAN, or Bluetooth). Select whether paper size is 58mm or 80mm, and optionally assign kitchen order tickets to a separate kitchen printer.

Pro Tip: Use the 'Test Print' button inside settings to verify alignment, font size, and automatic cutter action.
05

Add Products & Execute First Bill

Import your product menu via CSV/Excel or manually add items with prices and tax rates. Hit F1 or click 'New Bill', add an item, and press F8 to print your first receipt.

Pro Tip: Congratulations! Your counter is now operational with sub-second checkout speeds.

Common Setup Questions

Windows SmartScreen warning appears on launch?

This occurs for newly released installers until Microsoft certificate reputation accumulates. Simply click "More info" followed by "Run anyway". All InfoOS binaries are built with clean code and zero malware.

My thermal printer is printing blank or scrambled text?

Verify that the correct Windows driver for your printer (e.g. POS-80 or POS-58 Generic Text Only) is installed. Inside InfoOS Settings → Hardware, ensure the baud rate is set to 9600 for serial connections or ESC/POS for USB.

Can I transfer the database to another PC later?

Yes! Inside InfoOS Settings → Backup, click "Export Database Backup" to create a portable encrypted `.sqlite` snapshot that can be imported onto any new machine in seconds.
